Ban Tai Ban Tai was a prominent official position in ancient times, known as Sima, Si Kong, and Si Tu. Later on, it developed into a symbol of a high-ranking official, to the extent that they used a large desk, also known as Ban Tai, which mainly refers to the office desks used by high-ranking officials (or executives) for work. Due to the fact that they were all desks used by administrative officials or executives of enterprises and institutions, the design of Ban Tai tended to be large and stylish, and was commonly referred to as Da Ban Tai in the office furniture industry.
